What’s involved in a boiler service?
During a routine boiler service, we will carry out various checks and tests to ensure the system and its components are functioning properly, safely and efficiently. These include:
- Removing the boilers outer casing to check the controls
- Checking for corrosion
- Checking for leaks
- Checking the gas pressure
- Carrying out a flue test to check for unsafe emissions
- Cleaning any components that need it
A thorough but efficient boiler service will usually take less than an hour if it’s straightforward, so can be completed in just one short visit. Even if we do find any problems they can often be resolved at the time, as we carry many of the most essential replacement parts on our van just in case. Should we need to order any parts specially, they can usually be delivered very quickly, and a follow up visit arranged to complete the job as soon as possible.
